PLEASE NOTE Though this book is not technically a romance novel, it has strong romantic elements. This book is also adult in nature and for mature audiences, only. (profuse profanity, explicit sexual encounters and violence.)

This is the second book of a series (Raven Maxim); however, EACH BOOK IN THIS SERIES IS A STANDALONE, FULL LENGTH NOVEL.

*PLEASE NOTE This is a complete story that is divided into two parts due to the size of the work. This solution is referred to as a double novel. Part 1 and Part 2 are being released on the exact same day, at the exact same time. Part 1 is entitled, “White Trash.” Part 2 is entitled, “Black Class.” Therefore, there is technically no lingering cliffhanger since both books will be available for purchase simultaneously, thus avoiding any wait time whatsoever for readers.

Although the Raven Maxim books are all part of a series, they are standalone stories. The reader is not obligated to read them in order, nor are they required to read the entire collection. This is encouraged, but not necessary to guarantee the reader’s enjoyment and comprehension of the stories. You don’t have to wait for the entire series to be available to start reading, either, because the books are not contingent upon one another and each one has a separate ending.

BLURB

Dean North has spent his entire life in Macon, Mississippi. Rebellious and temperamental, he has turned his life around after a violent, disturbed youth. Trapped in a small town, he lives unfulfilled, plagued by his inner demons. Until, one night, things get worse before they get better…

Marilyn Majors is a Maxim, New York native. Successful, persistent, and results-driven, she specializes in picking up sinking ship companies and turning them into nautical gold stars. She’s sacrificed her life and heart to the gods of ambition. But when she meets a hardworking man with the charisma, enthusiasm, and acumen to take him places, she’s intrigued in a way she simply can’t shake loose, although she tries — for society would deem the crude, lowly Dean way outside of her league…

Sparks fly, resistance is futile, and in the end, the two forge a tight bond. But are they strong enough together to withstand the storm? Will they eventually make a way out of no way? Through heartbreak, betrayal, friendship, mammoth challenges, and unstoppable passion, time will tell if this is a love worth keeping.

White Trash Raven Maxim Book 2 edition by Tiana Laveen Romance eBooks

After completing my reading of "White Trash" I think I finally have recovered enough to write a review. I’m trying my utmost best to keep this spoiler free.

The queen of interracial genre is back, this time penning another masterful tale about two unlikely characters with different background and opinions. I loved the opening, the beautiful, gentle glide into the story. I enjoyed the attention to detail, the way things lined up, they all fit together perfectly.
That is what Ms Tiana Laveen literacy is: riveting, extraordinary, glorious and compelling. She always managed to weave a complex Tale about an antihero and turned it into a masterpiece. Anything her pen writes is an instant classic, fill with gold dust that sprinkles through the circuit wires and takes the reader unto a magically learning ride.

"White Thrash" is an emotional story that accurately depicted the characters talking about daily life, with a few arguments, that beautifully capture the nuances as well as the boldness of REAL heart-to-heart conversations. You the reader is deeply engaged In the sheer reality of the hardship of Deans life before he moved to Maxim. From the beginning she brought A level of detail to Dean's miserably life, which occupies the reader thought process. In no way this affected the pacing or the action of the storyline that eventually lead up to the two main characters meeting each other for the first time.

Dean and Marilyn unlikely relationship is probably my favorite thing about this book. Literally nothing separates these two, afterwards. Even in times where people are not to be believed, no matter what, these two are always there for each other.

There were scenes where I wanted to get up and clap Dean and other times I wanted to pound the crap outta him. I don’t have a favorite character - I couldn’t pick, because Its filled with awesome character representations. And despite there being a few supporting characters they all get enough development without taking away from the main characters story.

Tiana Laveen seriously knocked it out of the park, she's one the most underrated and underappreciated authors that have shown how much of a great storyteller she truly is.
Her characters are so literal, so very honest. The relationships built in the span of the two books were remarkable. Dean and Marilyn after a rocking start eventually had each others backs. There’s some incredibly beautiful and raw moments which resonated hard with me and I truly appreciated that.

This is story is about burning bridges, starting anew and then in the end, a story about love. Love for one’s family, and passion and love for one’s other half. It details about far one will endure to keep those that we love safe and sound…

Ive laughed, said a few curse words and even tense up as I read as fast as I could because once you reach to the end you'll be swearing viciously feigning for more.
Again let me reiterate, the Maxim series have the best character development I’ve seen, and frankly some of the most interesting characters I’ve read about in a while.

If your awaiting for a new book series to read I highly suggest this one; please don't hesitate in buying this book and the sequel -you won’t regret doing so!

White Trash Raven Maxim Book 2 edition by Tiana Laveen Romance eBooks Reviews

Tiana Laveen takes us back to Raven Maxim, New York with another slick, intelligent and sexy tale where opposites attract. Book one of this double novel touches on many current issues; sexism, racism and classisism to name a few as we are introduced to Dean and Marilyn. Although from two seemingly totally different backgrounds, they find their way under each others skins, into each others thoughts and finally hearts. Dean is a Southern man, hailing from Macon, Mississippi, with anger issues and the attiutude to match. He uses his fists first and there are no need for questions later. Dean is headed nowhere and doing it as fast as humanly possible. He ends up in Maxim in order to get a fresh start and runs smack dab into his destiny. Although they don't have the greatest of starts.

Marilyn is sheltered and shuttered from the world by choice. To call her relationship with her family dysfunctional is an understatement. She fixes others problems with the skill of a surgeon because it leaves her little time to look at her own. A cool and unyielding problem solver, Marilyn seems to have the perfect life but upon further inspection she is missing the love and affection from a man.

Dean, with his uncouth mouth and cigarette laced swag, manages to convince her to give him a chance, a trial period if you will. Needless to say the results are explosive.
To read a Tiana Laveen novel is to get insight to issues you never knew you had!

Marilyn and Dean....wow, where do I start? Dean has been told so many times by so many people that he wasn't sh*t, he actually started to believe it. He was so into self sabotage, it wasn't funny! But the one thing he had was pride...that's something he would NEVER allow anyone to take from him.

Marilyn is that poor little rich girl who was never allowed to be a kid. Her parents taught her you have to be the best AT ALL TIMES....I think more for them than her.

The insight Dean has doesn't surprise me...he reads people well; he had to in order to acclimate himself to whatever situation he found himself in. He's also finally understanding what Rose has been trying to tell him for years....education is the key to a successful future, however you define success.

The heat between the two was electrifying!! The more she resisted, the harder Dean pushed. He sees a future with her
and he was not going to let her hide from the possibility.

Ready to dive into the next book!!
In Ms. Laveen’s second installment of the Raven, Maxim series, she has written one of the most notorious heroes to date and I loved it! Dean “The Demon” North is White Trash. I found myself anxiously reading trying to figure out how Ms. Laveen would redeem such a soulless character. With her descriptive writing, this author digs into how perceptions can lead us down different life paths. I did have some issues believing that there were never any repercussions with Dean’s degenerate behavior while he is in Macon, Mississippi. However, I should note that I have no legal knowledge of such cases but I am certain Ms. Laveen did her research to support why she wrote these passages that way. In learning about Dean I was able to empathize with his many struggles and cheer on his journey to a fresh start. Readers should be aware that there is a part 2 to this story which must be read in order to understand how Dean finally finds his HEA. However, note that this work can be read as a two part stand- alone from book 1 Ghost Writer of the Raven, Maxim series. I happily recommend this work and look forward to reading Black Class part two.
